Quito
Quito is a beautiful old city and has been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site for more than 20 years. It is located in the Andean highlands in the northern-central part of the country, close to the Equator. It is surrounded by mountains with three snow-capped volcanoes, one of them the Pichincha.
Many of the historical buildings are within walking distance from our school or easy to reach by inexpensive busses or taxis.
Quito has much to offer culturally. The US1 or Pan Americana Highway goes through Quito. So it is easy to drive by bus or go by car to the North or South and visit other parts of Ecuador such as the Amazon Basin, the mountains or the beaches.
